WAAHV (pronounced "WAVE") is an organization dedicated to promoting women's sports in the Hudson Valley. Through our organization, we hope to increase participation in women's recreational sports by providing the means to find athletic opportunities.

WAAHV was founded in 2007 by a small group of women who were frustrated with the low levels of participation in women's recreational sports in the area. We knew that the number of adult female athletes far exceeded participation, and we have made it our mission to bring more of these women back into the game. In our infancy, our primary goal is to make it easy for women to find sports leagues.

As an organization, we believe that the most important element of adult recreational sports is for all involved to enjoy playing the game. Thus, we value and encourage friendly competition with an emphasis on fair play, good sportsmanship, maintaining lifelong health and fitness, and providing all participants with an opportunity to play, regardless of skill or fitness level. Whether you have never played a game in your life or you have played a thousand games, we encourage you to get involved for the love of sport.
